Overview

Raster graphics are images composed of dots called pixels arranged in a rectangular grid from left to right, top to bottom.

Each pixel can have a color assigned of depth from 1 bit (2 color) to over 24 bits (16.8 million colors).

Photographs, web images, TVs, barcodes, and all graphics on your computer screen are Raster graphics.

Raster Graphics

Raster graphics are just dots, but it is the only human readable form of digital graphics there is.

Working with raster graphics means working with dots.
